Aquacel Extra

Aquacel® Extra™ is an advanced wound dressing composed of Hydrofiber® Technology, designed to manage moderate to highly exuding wounds. This dressing is composed of two layers of Hydrofiber® Technology stitched together, making it nine times stronger and 39% more absorbent than the original Aquacel® dressing. The enhanced strength and absorption capabilities make it an excellent choice for managing chronic and acute wounds, promoting a moist wound healing environment and reducing the risk of infection and maceration.

Indications:

• Leg ulcers (venous, arterial, mixed etiology)
• Diabetic foot ulcers
• Pressure ulcers/injuries
• Surgical wounds
• Traumatic wounds

Usage Instructions:

1. Cleanse the wound with saline and dry the surrounding skin.
2. Apply Aquacel Extra dressing directly onto the wound, ensuring it overlaps the wound edges by at least 1cm.
3. Cover with an appropriate secondary dressing such as a foam or absorbent pad.
4. The dressing can be left in place for up to 7 days, depending on the level of exudate.

Precautions:

• If signs of infection persist or worsen, seek medical advice.
• Ensure appropriate coverage and securement of the dressing to optimize its performance.
